A New Blog

Blog Entry #0 A New Blog

For as many times as I have read blogs, I never once thought I would be writing about blogs. Whether looking for a cooking recipe or reading about the latest fashion trends, there’s always someone else to write about these topics; blogs where experts in a professional field discuss new findings, or a person shares their opinion about sports. In a world where anyone can post anything at any time, I am now adding my voice to the countless other voices on the Internet.

Take, for example, Vogue, a leading fashion blog that not only has pictures of models walking down runways in sleek new outfits, posed in intricate ways, or different outfits upon outfits, but they also paint pictures with the word choice they use in order to draw in the reader. While still being descriptive, Vogue provides plenty of information about the topics it writes about. From background stories of rising artists and how they got to be that, to opinion pieces where they share the bigger picture of the moment, there are always details to share with the reader.

Unlike Vogue, BloggersPassion lacks any sort of character and rather rinses and repeats the same style for every single blog.

While having consistency can be a good writing adjective, in this case, it diminishes the overall experience of the blog. While this blog is an informational one regarding many different topics, the layout is one of simplicity that sacrifices personality.

While blogs may differ in topics or tone, style, and set-up, they can all still serve the same function of getting ideas across. How the author chooses to execute a blog matters.

Comments

  1. Vogue drapes its ideas in velvet prose and vivid imagery; BloggersPassion serves them plain, functional, almost clinical. Both deliver, yet one lingers like perfume, the other fades like yesterday’s news. Execution isn’t decoration; it’s the heartbeat. Keep writing. Your style will carve its own space..and the photo you picked is TEA!
